  • If you do not earn two quality points in a class each semester, you must attend ELP GRADE ENHANCEMENT THAT YEAR.
  • ELP GRADE ENHANCEMENT – For 7th and 8th graders who attend and are successful in ELP, the point value of an “F” grade will change to the point value of a “D” grade.  This opportunity is offered once in the fall (2nd quarter) and twice in the spring (3rd and 4th quarter).  This option is only for classes currently being taken.  6th graders may attend ELP for tutorial purposes but will not receive any point value toward their grade.  6th graders who do not earn two quality points per semester in each core course will make up the course during summer school.
  • If you do not take advantage of the ELP program and you fail a class for the semester, you must make arrangements with your Guidance Counselor to REPEAT that course over the summer via Hillsborough Virtual School (HVS).
  • ELP COURSE RECOVERY:  7th and 8th graders can attend four days per week and makeup the entire semester of a course that you have previously failed.  ELP CR is offered twice per year.  Once in the Fall and once in the Spring.  ELPCR is for classes you have failed in previous years.  Example:  You failed 6th grade math last year and did not attend ELP.  Now, as a 7th grader, you have to repeat the entire semester in order to receive credit.
  • HILLSBOROUGH VIRTUAL SCHOOL:  You can register for classes that you failed last year and repeat them online.  In order to register for these classes go to online.mysdhc.org.  Set up an account.  Choose your classes, and the counselor will approve them.  Once the coursework is completed, a Final Grade Report will be issued and credit for the class received if a passing grade earned.
  • SCHOOL SCHEDULE:  For some students, the failed course from the previous year was placed into your scheduled.  You need to earn a passing grade for that class to receive credit.  If you do not earn a passing grade, you will need to take the class again but this time through one of the above options.
